In 2011, the Indiana General Assembly banned certain chemicals commonly found in synthetic marijuana (such as Spice and K2) and synthetic stimulants (marketed as bath salts). However, manufacturers simply tweaked the chemical makeup of their products to sidestep the ban. Senate Bill 234 would strengthen the ban, adding additional chemical compounds and broadening the definition of synthentic cannabinoids.
